"American Alien"

LAPC Theatre

Los Angeles Pierce College Theatre will conclude its 2021-2022 Season beginning May 6 with "American Alien," a devised collaboration by Shaheen Vaaz with LA Pierce College students and community. Performances begin Friday, May 6 and continue through Sunday, May 15, 2022 in LAPC’s Performing Arts Mainstage.

"American Alien" is a devised theatre piece that has been created through collaboration about Immigration in America now. From inception to completion, our student and community team, led by director Shaheen Vaaz, is bringing to life a complex and dynamic piece that examines Immigration in our world. Through interviews, improvisations, and explorations in our neighboring communities, through spoken word and found music, we will bring you an innovative, original new theatre work that speaks to our shared obsession and collective pain surrounding Immigration.

LAPC Theatre’s production is directed by Shaheen Vaaz. The cast includes Megan Araneta, Kyle Brasher, Jhon Cartolin, Tomas Ciriaco, Sebastian Garcia, Jacob Gonzales, Nazareth Hailey, Joshua Lang, Itzhak Matos, Netta Nakash, Topher Ngo, Amir Nikbin, Danni Rabbani, Navah Rahbar, Celine Reyes, “Gello” Rosales, Roya Row, Kayvan Shai, Jamie Spector, Angelo Spinosa and Victoria Zamora.

The production features scenic design by Nilgoon Askari, costume design by Eileen Gizienski, lighting design by Michael Gend and video and sound design by DJ Medina. Jonathan Bowen is the stage manager.

"American Alien" will open in the Performing Arts Mainstage on the Pierce College campus on Friday, May 6 and continue through Sunday, May 15. Performances times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets are priced at $15 for students, $18 for seniors and $23 for general admission. Free parking is conveniently located in parking lot #6 on the Pierce College campus (6201 Winnetka Ave., Woodland Hills, CA, 91371), adjacent to the Performing Arts Center.
